GIS / Addressing Manager
Position Summary
The GIS/Addressing Manager oversees the accurate assignment, maintenance, and management of addresses countywide, as well as the center’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This position is responsible for mapping, data integrity, and address management to support emergency response, public safety operations, planning, and countywide coordination. The GIS/Addressing Manager works closely with county and municipal agencies, emergency services, utilities, and external partners to ensure addressing and GIS data is accurate, consistent, and compliant with local, state, and national standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain GIS datasets for emergency response and county operations.
- Assign, update, and manage all physical addresses countywide in accordance with established addressing standards.
- Ensure address and GIS data accuracy within CAD, GIS, and mapping systems through audits, quality control, and validation processes.
- Maintain comprehensive GPS and GIS mapping of county infrastructure, roads, parcels, and address points using ESRI software.
- Maintain mapping data for Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) / ESInet systems.
- Coordinate with county departments, municipalities, emergency services, utilities, developers, and external partners regarding addressing and mapping needs.
- Analyze spatial data and prepare maps, reports, presentations, and spatial analyses as requested.
- Establish, document, and maintain addressing policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide GIS support for planning, operations, and special projects.
- Respond to address-related inquiries from county departments, developers, and the public.
- Stay current on GIS technology, ESRI updates, and best practices in addressing and geospatial data management.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief or designee.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of GIS principles and practices.
- Proficiency with ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) and GPS data collection tools.
- Ability to interpret plats, surveys, legal descriptions, and spatial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Planning, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience with GIS mapping, address management, or geospatial data analysis.
- Experience in a public safety or local government environment preferred.
- ESRI or GIS-related certifications preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with periodic fieldwork for GPS data collection and verification.
- May require travel throughout the county.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work in excess of 8 continuous hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, maintain work accuracy, and concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician.
Public Safety Telecommunicator
Duties:
Answer emergency and non-emergency calls
Transmit and receive messages on the radio
Work rotational shifts as assigned
Follow Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols, giving dispatch and pre-arrival instructions
Monitor multiple radio channels when required and communicate when needed
Successfully complete within a specified time period APCO and EMD certification
Starting Salary:
$49,500 (including scheduled overtime)

Requirements:
18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Passing grade on Criticall test
Typing speed 35 WPM minimum
12 hours shifts/working week 1: 36 hours & week 2: 48 hours/with every other weekend off
