Jefferson County 9-1-1 is a CALEA accredited agency. CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) provides a communication center with a process to systemically review and internally assess its operations and procedures. CALEA’s 207 standards are focused on quality assurance, interoperability, emerging technologies, risk analysis, asset security, resources access, contemporary training and a range of other operational functions.
Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. CALEA has created a public portal designed to receive comments regarding our compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.
These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide information to support continuous improvement as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
