John Whitehead is the Chief of Jefferson County 911, bringing more than 30 years of experience in public safety to the role. Throughout his career, John has been committed to making communities safer through smarter, more reliable emergency response systems.
Before stepping into his role at Jefferson County 911, John spent 20 years with Intergraph/Hexagon, helping public safety agencies across the country implement technology that improves how first responders serve their communities. He also served as General Manager at Comtech SST, a company known for helping 911 calls reach the right place quickly and accurately through advanced routing systems.
John earned his Master’s Degree from the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University and is passionate about building strong teams, fostering innovation, and ensuring that every 911 call gets the fastest and best possible response.
He’s proud to lead a dedicated team at Jefferson County 911, working every day to support the safety and well-being of everyone in our community.
